Dear subscriber,

Four years ago today hundreds of kiwis set off from the tips of both islands, heading to Parliament expecting to have their grievances heard. Instead, they were ridiculed by media and collectively ignored by all 120 members of the House for 23 days, while camped on the grounds outside.

We're thrilled to announce that six sample copies of the book we have been working on—Heart of the Protesthave arrived, and they look great! The rest are on their way. Full launch and delivery will be in mid-March 2026. The book captures more of the stories behind this historic convoy and occupation which began on Waitangi Weekend 2022. Heart of the Protest also tells the story of how a small, determined team came together to document these events, and how the crowdfunded film River of Freedom went on to become the most-watched film in New Zealand on 21 September 2023.

The writers, Siân and Gaylene, will also be in Wellington attending this year's Peace Picnic at Parliament from 6-8pm on 10 February 2026. To reconnect and celebrate those who held the line. Come and say hi for a SNEAK PREVIEW of the book!

Here's a snippet from Chapter 5 - Holding the Lines about the events on February 10 2022:
